Computing

Each week I will set '2 do's' on Purple Mash. When you access the Purple Mash website new activities will pop up each week for you to complete.

You can also virtually hand in your work and write short messages to your teacher. I will always try to make sure you get a reply :)

All of the computing activities will be set through Purple Mash. The children will have a login in their reading diaries and have used the platform many times before in our computing lessons on a Friday.

This half term we have been learning all about coding - the children have been getting pretty good at it and once or twice have had to show me how to debug programs! We are working within the 'Chimp' level.  Well done to those children that have completed activities so far. We will continue to work through the coding activities in the coming weeks.

As well as learning how to code, children will also be set some online activities that fit with other areas of the curriculum. Accessing these within purple mash means we will also be working on other computing objectives, such as learning how to type, present information in different formats and using the internet for research. It is also important to remind your child of online safety. This is something we talk a lot about at school. When using the internet at school for research purposes, children will be accessing a search engine that is heavily protected against online content that may not be appropriate. Please ensure that children are supervised when doing any research based activities online when using the internet at home as your internet may not have the same content restrictions as school.
