Be inspired to believe, achieve and succeed together

*If your child is coming in to school this week they will cover Monday and Tuesday's lesson*

This week we are thinking about transition and moving on to Year 2. Monday's lesson gives you the opportunity to think about and discuss each question that would be useful for your new teachers to know about you. You could write short sentences in preparation for writing a letter or postcard to your new teachers on Tuesday.

Monday 13th July 2020

Tuesday 14th July 2020

Write a letter or postcard to your new teachers (Miss Armstrong and Mrs Parker) using some of the information from the questions you looked at yesterday. I would like this task to be completed independently and I will pass them on to Year 2 teachers. For those that are not returning to school until September, you might like to email them to me and I will pass them on or else post/ drop them at school if you are calling in.

Wednesday 15th July - Friday 17th July 2020

Listen to the story below 'Dear Teacher'.

Over the next few days I would like you to use your imagination and come up with different/silly reasons why you cannot start Year 2 on the first day back in September and address it to your new teacher.

Remember we are just using our imagination and pretending we are like Michael in the story 'Dear Teacher', I know how excited you all are to return to school and start Year 2 :)

What creative ideas can you come up with?

What exciting adventures will you go on?

Are you alone or do you have a friend with you?

  • Use a capital letter, finger space and full stop.
  • Use your phonics to sound out and spell words.
  • Can you use an adjective in your sentence?

I look forward to reading your exciting letters!
