Monday 11th January 2021

Today, I would like you to sequence the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' using the story map template below. You can draw your own story map or use the story map attached and order the pictures in the correct order. Then, I would like you to describe each picture e.g Long, wavy grass. Do this for each picture. 

REMEMBER to use a capital letter, finger space and full stop in each sentence. Also, remember to use your phonics to sound out when spelling words.

Tuesday 12th January 2021

Now that you know the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' really well, we are going to recreate the story by changing a few things. First thing that we are going to change is the main character. So, instead of 'Going on a Bear Hunt' you can go on any type of hunt that you want. I have a few examples for you but feel free to pick your own:

• Shark
• Crocodile
• Dragon
• Elephant
• Gorilla

Once you have chosen your new main character, I would like you to create a wanted poster for your character and describe what it looks like. Remember to use lots of interesting adjectives.

Wednesday 13th January 2021

Today, I would like you to pick three settings that will appear in your story (a setting is where the story takes place). You can choose some of the settings from 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' or you can choose your own. You will want to think about the animal you have chosen for your main character and where you will find that animal at the end of your story. 

For example if your new character is a crocodile, you might go through the long, wavy grass and then the deep dark forest until you get to a green, gooey swamp where you find the crocodile swimming around. 

Use the template below to sequence the three settings that will appear in your story.

Thursday 14th & Friday 15th January 2021

Over the next two days, I want you to use everything from the last two weeks to create your own story 'We're Going on a _____ Hunt'.

Remember to include your three settings.
