If you came face to face with the aliens in War of the Worlds, what would you say?
Tomorrow, we will be writing a conversation between you and the alien. Today, we will plan your writing and explore the ways in which both characters might speak.
Join me on Zoom, where we will talk about 'Shades of Meaning' and how to pick the most effective words for each character. Then complete the planning sheet below. Include the following things:
- Synonyms for Said
- Adverbs to show how the character would speak
- Information about how they would act as they spoke
Use a thesaurus (or the website below) to find the best synonyms. It's always a good idea to use a dictionary to check the exact meaning of a new word if you are uncertain.
