Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is on Friday February 12th. For the next 3 weeks, we will be looking at this exciting celebration. This year is the Year of the Ox! Have a look at the chart below and talk about the year that you were born. Which animal was your year of birth?
Can you make a picture of your animal? Use paint or colours and maybe some junk/ craft materials? Send us your pictures of your creations.
Look at this presentation all about Chinese New Year
Talk to your grown ups about China. Can you find it on globe or on a map? Have a look on the internet and see what you can find out about China. Look at the houses in China. Do they look like your house? Look at Chinese writing. Can you read it? See if you can listen to some people talking in Chinese? Can you understand what the people are saying? Have a think about the celebrations that you have at home. How are they the same or different to Chinese New Year celebrations?
