This week and next we are comparing the suitability of different materials and thinking about why a material will have been chosen to make a particular object.
Below is a powerpoint presentation which you can go through and then a worksheet. When you open the pdf file there are 3 worksheets - you do not need to do all 3. The first sheet is the easiest and they get progressively harder so choose which one you feel would be best to complete with your child. The most important part of the activity is discussing why certain materials are most suitable for a particular job, and why others would not be suitable.
