Be inspired to believe, achieve and succeed together

Weekly Update

Week beginning 18th September

We have had another jam-packed week in Year 2!

In our English,  we have been writing instructions for 'How to make a Gruffalo Crumble'. We have been using alliterative phrases, time conjunctions and imperative verbs to make our instructions more detailed and interesting.

In our Maths, we have been looking at finding different ways of partitioning 2 digit numbers and ordering our multiples of 10 to 100. Some of our learning has been really tricky this week, and the children have been so resilient!

In our Phonics lessons, we have been looking at different ways of making the 'ai' sound such as ay, a-e, a, eigh ei, ea and ey and writing sentences containing these.

We have particularly enjoyed our history lessons where we have continued to look at the life of Grace Darling. On Friday, we explored how lighthouses and boats have changed over time and spent time writing about what we had found out.

The Year 2 team are so impressed with how many children have been reading 4 times a week at home. There were lots of golden tickets handed out in class today. Thank you for all of your support and hard work at home with this.

Have a wonderful weekend and take care.

Miss Wragg
