Hello and welcome back to the new school year! We already have lots of activities planned for the 17/18 school year, so make sure you check out the Upcoming Events, Calendar and Latest News sections below.
For all our new starters (or anyone else!) here is a little bit of information about what we do. Friends of Trowell School (or FOTS as you might also know us) are a group of parents, grandparents and carers that are raising funds to support Trowell CofE Primary School. Last year we purchased a fantastic outdoor clamber stack for the school playground (read all about it below). In the past we have also used money that we have raised to buy books, musical instruments, support the Year 6 leavers party and selection boxes for all the children at Christmas time. We are always looking for new ways to raise money, get the school community involved and hopefully have some fun while doing it!

On Tuesday 26th September we held our annual AGM at Trowell School. It was really great to see some old and new faces at the meeting and Karen did a brilliant job of giving us the Chairperson's report. We were sorry to hear that Jodie Kerry was stepping down as our Treasurer but Julie Owens has kindly volunteered to take over. We would like to say a huge thank you to Jodie for all her hard work over the last two years and she can think again if she is getting away that easily, we still need helpers at our events!
It was reported that we raised a whopping £4266.37 last year! We think this may be some kind of record but we will need to check the figures from the previous years before we can officially say that. Thank you so much to all the parents, grandparents, family and friends for spending all your money at our events, it all goes to help buy new equipment for our school.
After having such a fantastic year last year, we are pleased to announce that at the AGM we handed over a cheque to Mr Goddard for £2000! The cost of the clamber stack was originally £10,000 pounds, we had already raised £5000 and the school kindly donated £2000. Our target was to pay back the £3000 in two years. We are really hoping to pay back the final £1000 in the first half of this year, much sooner than we originally thought. We can then start thinking about our next project. Please help us to raise the last £1000 to make our target. The children really enjoy this new piece of play equipment during playtimes.
