Routines

To encourage independence and responsibility, children in Year 6 are asked to come straight into school upon arrival to put belongings in their locker and on their tables, ready for learning. They must then go back outside. Some children may also have allocated jobs to do upon arrival.

In preparation for secondary school, it is recommended that parents begin to allow children some independence in coming to/from school. This might include, for a start, dropping them off at/picking them up from the school gates or the end of the driveway.

Any children who walk to school alone may bring a mobile phone. This should be handed in to the school office upon arrival and collected at the end of the day. Mobile phones must not be kept in lockers.

Equipment and uniform

Children are welcome to bring their own pencil cases, however all stationery and equipment is provided in school. We use specific handwriting pens, so children may be asked not to use their own pens, however their own pencils, rubbers, colouring pencils, highlighters etc are permitted.

Water bottles should come to school every day. These should be water only.

Please discourage children from bringing other possessions/toys, as these inevitably cause issues.

Children should wear PE kit all day on PE days - Monday and Friday. For extra-curricular clubs, children should bring kit to change into, which can be stored in their lockers.
